The United States Department of State has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the identification, location, arrest, or prosecution of Mojtaba Khamenei, who has emerged as Iran’s new supreme leader.
The department also listed several other senior Iranian officials among individuals being sought for information. Those named include Eskandar Momeni and Esmail Khatib, alongside others linked to Iran’s security and intelligence structure.
According to the announcement, the individuals are accused of directing elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which U.S. authorities allege has been involved in planning and carrying out terrorist activities internationally.
The reward is being offered through the Rewards for Justice Program, an initiative that provides financial compensation for credible intelligence that helps authorities locate or prosecute individuals linked to terrorism.
Officials also indicated that individuals with relevant information can submit tips through secure communication channels, and those who provide useful intelligence may be eligible for relocation in addition to the monetary reward.
“These individuals command and direct various elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which plans, organizes and executes terrorism around the world,” the State Department said.
The development comes after the death of Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a bombing on February 28 at the beginning of the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
