"My enemies want to use insecurity to get rid of me, but I'm a very stubborn politician…"- Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he will not be removed from office over the country’s rising security challenges, insisting that insecurity will not stop his administration or his plans for a second term.

The President made the statement while meeting with Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other stakeholders from Plateau State.

Tinubu Speaks on Insecurity and Political Pressure

Tinubu said some individuals were attempting to exploit the nation’s security situation to weaken his government.

He warned that such actions were indirectly supporting political opponents and external interests working against his administration.

According to him, insecurity should not be turned into a political weapon.

“I Am a Very Stubborn Politician” – Tinubu

During the meeting, the President described himself as a determined political figure who does not easily back down from pressure.

He stated: “You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me. “I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term.”

Tinubu also insisted that he remains focused despite criticisms surrounding the security situation in the country.

Call for Second Term Bid

The President openly confirmed his intention to seek re-election in 2027, saying he will actively campaign for a second term.

Rising Security Concerns Across the Country

His comments come amid continued concerns over insecurity in several parts of Nigeria, including attacks by armed groups, kidnappings, and violent incidents.

Opposition figures and civil society organizations have repeatedly called on the federal government to take stronger and more effective action to address the crisis.

Government’s Position on Security Efforts

Despite criticisms, the Tinubu administration has consistently defended its handling of security matters.
