The family of late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo has released details of his final burial arrangements, with ceremonies expected to end on June 18, 2026.
Ekubo reportedly passed away on May 11 following a battle with kidney cancer, throwing the Nigerian entertainment industry into mourning.
In a statement shared via the actor’s official Instagram account on Monday, the family appealed to friends, fans and well-wishers to keep them in their prayers during the period of grief.
As part of the funeral activities, a service of songs has been fixed for June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos.
The event is scheduled to run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., while guests have been asked to attend in white outfits.
The wake ceremony will later take place on June 17 at the family compound in Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
According to the programme released by the family, the funeral service and burial will hold on June 18. The church service is billed for Mary Slessor School, after which the late actor will be laid to rest at his family residence in Arochukwu.
A reception is also expected to follow immediately after the interment at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, with mourners requested to maintain the white dress code throughout the ceremonies.
