Actor Lee Sang Bo has passed away, joining his adored sister and parents. Despite dealing with depression and panic disorder following the loss of several family members, he persevered and had tremendous support from many, but his death has left many people sad.
Lee Sang Bo, born in 1981, made his debut in the 2006 KBS2 drama ‘Invisible Man Choi Jang-su’. After his debut, he went by the stage name ‘Lee Bo-hyun’ for a while until returning to his birth name, Lee Sang Bo, in 2016.
He appeared in dramas such as ‘The Era of Daughters-in-Law’, ‘Romance Hunter’, ‘Rugal’, ‘Private Life’, ‘Miss Monte Cristo’, ‘Elegant Empire’, and films such as ‘Mepisto’ and ‘Secretly Great’.
Lee Sang Bo made news after he was falsely accused of drug use. In September 2022, he was reported for walking in a manner suggestive of being under the influence of narcotics, and he was immediately arrested on suspicion of drug use, which turned out to be false.

Lee Sang Bo did not use drugs; instead, after losing his sister and parents in quick succession, he developed acute depression and panic disorder, prompting him to use antidepressants and nerve stabilisers.
He had this incident after combining these drugs with alcohol during a holiday. The National Forensic Service’s precise investigation revealed no drug components, and he was eventually cleared of all allegations.
Following the false drug accusation, Lee Sang Bo successfully returned through ‘Elegant Empire’ and stated, “I prepared my acting to overturn the incident and display it to people. So that the incident will be forgotten.
Two strong aspirations arose: as an actor, accepting responsibility and allowing it to gradually fade away through my work.” He stated his firm stance and gained a lot of support.
After that, Lee Sang Bo signed an exclusive deal with Korea Management Group, which includes Ahn Jae-mo and Lee Soo-kyung, and worked relentlessly to honour his pledge. However, on the 27th, he passed away unexpectedly, leaving those who supported him heartbroken.
Especially since Lee Sang Bo had passed the terrible period following the sequential death of his sister and parents and returned to his daily life, the sadness is undoubtedly severe. He even removed all posts from his social media sites, as if he were attempting to erase his history.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang Bo’s funeral has been scheduled for Room 3 of Pyeongtaek Central Funeral Hall in Gyeonggi Province. /[emailprotected]
