Nigerians Are Now Free To Come Back Home With Expired Passports — FG





The Federal Government of Nigeria has called upon its citizens stuck in another country due to expired passports to come back home.

The Minister of Interior, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola in a directive directed Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to allow Nigerians in the diaspora to return back home with their expired International Passports.

The directive from the minister of interior came on Wednesday, July 13, which said that Nigerians in diaspora were free to come back home with their expired or non-expired Nigerian passport.

According to Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, no Nigerian citizen outside the country needs a travel certificate to come back home, except children, whose parents were Nigerians, but their identities were yet to be established according to immigration rules.

“I am using this medium to instruct all Nigeria Immigration Officers World-Wide to accord Nigerian travelers with expired Passport use such passports to return safely back home henceforth,” he said.
