Darrell Sheets, who starred in 163 episodes of the famous A&E series “Storage Wars,” died Wednesday in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at 67. Police said he died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
“On April 22, 2026, at about 02:00 hours, officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Chandler Drive regarding a reported deceased subject.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a male individual with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The individual was declared dead on the spot, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was alerted and dispatched to the location to take over the investigation,” according to a release.
“The body was eventually turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.” The male individual was identified as Darrell Sheets, a 67-year-old Lake Havasu City resident, and his family has been alerted.
This incident is still under investigation, and further information will be given when it becomes available,” the announcement stated.
Sheets starred on the long-running reality show “Storage Wars” from 2010 until 2023, as well as on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and Raechel Ray’s show.
The competition series sets buyer teams against one another in a bid to collect the most expensive payload from the contents of storage vaults auctioned off.
He had a heart attack in 2019 and retired to Arizona, where he ran an antique shop called Havasu Show Me Your Junk.
