Iran has vowed to punish United States President, Donald Trump, over the killing of its Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
The Islamic Republic made the declaration in a statement shared on its official X account on Saturday, one week after Khamenei was reportedly killed in an airstrike launched by the United States and its ally, Israel.
“We will punish Trump for assassinating Supreme Leader Khamenei. We will never let him go,” the statement read.
The development comes amid escalating tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel following the outbreak of war on February 28.
Reports indicate that many Iranians have been killed since the conflict began, while at least six American soldiers have also reportedly lost their lives in the ongoing clashes.
Reacting to the development, an X user identified as @sixtoninee wrote:
“Trump deserves this and I’m sure Iran will do this. Persians have history of being brave. They won’t let it go. Israel and the United States have already failed in changing the regime. They made the regime stronger. They are losing this war from every angle.”
The situation continues to draw global attention as tensions remain high in the Middle East, with many observers worried about the possibility of further escalation.
